I agree with Art that you should find the largest deck that will fit through the openings (between trees, buildings, etc.) that you have, provided that you have the HP to run the deck without bogging down. Also make sure of the rollbar height to make sure you can fit under the bottom tree limbs.
I almost made a big mistake recently. I have a JD 855 hydrostat that I was going to trade in for a bigger tractor--taller, wider, longer, more HP--so that I could mow both my yard (about 3 acres) with a belly mower and then switch over to a 7' brush cutter to do another 30 acres of CRP, all with the same tractor. It wasn't until I walked around my yard and surrounding area with a tape measure that I found just how many places this new tractor wouldn't fit. I realized then that I will have to scrap the idea of using the same tractor to do these very different jobs.
To echo a comment made earlier, ag tires are ok in my opinion for mowing--I don't mow when it's wet and provided you don't retrace your tire tracks every time you mow, you shouldn't notice a problem.

Can anyone tell me about 3 pt posthole diggers, like the min. HP required, how well they work, whether the 24" tree bits require a lot more HP and time? Also, what do you think of the King Kutter model and are there any moderately priced alternatives? Thanks.

Two questions--first, I am looking at a '96 Ford 2120 with 800 hours, mfwd, loader, in pretty good condition. Seller wants $14,000. What do you think? Second, I need 2 remotes on it for rear attachments (it doesn't have any). Are they hard to add? What is the rough cost? Thanks!

I'm told that the 2120 Ford series spill oil at idle. I was looking at a 2120 on a used tractor lot and noticed a very slight drip. The owner said that this is a known problem and that it really isn't a problem in that it only happens just a little and only at idle. Has anyone heard of this and should I be concerned?

I am looking at a 1996 ford 2120 with about 800 hours. Has anyone had any experience, either good or bad, with this tractor?Also, it has a backhoe (ford factory) that is supposed to be a quick detach. Has anyone used one? The loader is also considered a quick detach but it has bolts that have to be taken off and doesn't look nearly as easy to remove as my jd loader. Thanks.
